OCEANA Upscale Happy Hour

Oceana in San Marco: Jacksonville, Florida

If you're in San Marco and looking for an more upscale dining experience, Oceana is a must-try! While it is on the pricier side, their Happy Hour offers a fantastic opportunity to sample their menu at a more affordable rate. The atmosphere is great, making it perfect for a date night or a girls' happy hour, and our server, Diandra, was amazing and deserves a special shout-out.

Happy Hour Highlights:

  • Caviar Service - ✨7.5/10

  • Smothered Tater Tots - ✨8/10

  • Truffle Fries - ✨8/10

  • Brussels Sprouts - ✨7/10

    • A little greasy

  • Mayport Shrimp - ✨10/10

  • Beef Carpaccio - ✨9/10

  • Asian Cucumber - ✨9/10

Main Courses and Drinks:

  • Lobster Thermidor - ✨7.5/10

    • Great but too much lemon. Next time, I’d ask for the lemon on the side as it overpowered the lobster.

  • Seafood Pasta - ✨8/10

    • The pasta was a bit dry and could have used more sauce.

  • Miso Chilean Sea Bass - ✨1000/10

    • Absolutely phenomenal. I would come here just for this dish.

  • Lychee Sour Martini - ✨7.5/10

  • Matcha Sour - ✨8.5/10

Desserts:

  • Semifreddo - ✨7/10

    • The Semifreddo was still a bit frozen and not thawed all the way, but it was still good.

  • Banana Bread - ✨10/10

    • The Banana Bread was absolutely amazing and I would get that every time I dine there.

Overall Experience:

The Miso Sea Bass stood out as the star of the evening, with its exquisite flavor and perfect preparation. The Happy Hour menu was diverse and delicious, particularly the Mayport Shrimp and Beef Carpaccio. I did wish the beef carpaccio came with some bread or crackers! First time trying caviar? It’s a good introduction, although I’m not fully on board with the hype, it was still quite enjoyable. What you order here can definitely change the trajectory of your experience!

The ambiance at Oceana was perfect, and the freshness of the peel-and-eat shrimp was delightful for such a simple dish I really enjoyed it. While I found some of the prices steep for what I got like the Lobster Thermidor, I would definitely return for Happy Hour and the Miso Sea Bass. Oceana is a great place to enjoy a high-quality meal in a lovely setting, making it well worth a visit.
